Prevention and management of the common post-operative complications of transurethral resection of prostate

Objective To investigate the patients with transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) and find the best way of common postoperative complication of TURP to improve the safety and effective of TURP.Methods The clinical data of 180 patients (2010-2012) were analyzed for the common post-operative complications of TURP retrospectively.Results Bladder spasm occurred in 70 cases,postoperative chills in 30 cases,postoperative bleeding in 1 case,temporary incontinence in 6 cases,dysuresia and in 7 cases,urethral stricture in 5 cases,bladder neck contracture in 1 case,urinary tract infection in 21 cases,retrograde ejaculation in 1 case,epididymitis in 3 cases.Conclusions There are many factor for postoperative complication of TURP.To improve skill of operators.To master the indications of TURP strictly,and to perfect preoperative assistant examination is vital for improving clinical effects,and there will be no serious consequence if the complications can be treated in time.
