Endovascular treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations with Onyx embollzation

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of cerebral arteriovenous malformation(AVM)with Onyx.Methods Onyx-18 was used to treat 17 csses of cerebral arteriovenous malformation.The diameter of AVM was all beyond 3 cm.over 6 cm in 11 cases.The diseased region of all cases were of muhiarterial supply.Results In 17 cages of AVM,9 cases were embolizedmore than 100%,6 caBes 80%,and 2 cases less than 50%.17 cases had no compilcations.Conclusion Onyx is an optimal embolization material in the treatment of AVM.but it's necessary to master the correct embolization technique to avoid complications.
