Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between umbilical arterial blood flow changes and pregnancy outcomes of severe preeclampsia. Methods Thirty-nine patients with severe preeclampsia were choosed. The umbilical arterial blood flow parameters S/D value, resistance index ( RI),pulsatility index (PI) were detected by color doppler ultrasound, and analyed with the pregnancy outcomes. Results S/D,RI and PI value in patients with severe preeclampsia were higher than those in normal pregnancy group, there were significant differences between the two groups ( P < 0.05 ) ; with the increase of the ratio of umbilical arterial blood flow, the average birth weight of newborns,Apgar scores of patients with severe preeclampsia were significantly lower than those of the normal pregnancy group, there were significant differences (P < 0.05) ; perinatal mortality rate, fetal growth restriction(FGR) of patients with severe preeclampsia were obviously higher than those of normal pregnancy group, there were significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusions Umbilical arterial S/D,RI,PI value can be used as a kind of non-invasive,repeatable means for inspection the baby in the womb. Key words: Color Doppler ultrasound; Preeclampsia; Umbilical artery blood velocity; Pregnancy outcome
