Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effects of hydrogen sulfide on interleukin(IL)-1, tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α levels in type Ⅱ diabetic rats with osteoporosis. Methods We studied 90 adult male Wistar rats aged 2 months, and divided into three groups: A group:25 of the rats as control group (A group), 29 diabetic osteoporosis rats as B group, and 30 diabetic rats dealt with hydrogen sulfide(C group); after ovariectomy 2, 4 and 6 weeks, blood samples were collected to detect the IL- 1, TNF-α levels. Results After ovariectomy 2, 4 and 6 weeks, IL-1, TNF-α electrophoresis result image to analyze with NIH website analysis software Image J.Group A,Band CIL- 1 results mean respectively:0.41 ±0.01, 0.65±0.02, 0.51±0.03; 0.35±0.02, 0.77±0.05, 0.40±0.08; 0.47±0.02, 1.50± 0.30, 0.71±0.03.TNF-αmean results: 0.20±0.02, 0.47±0.03, 0.36±0.02; 0.11±0.02, 0.46±0.05, 0.22±0.03; 0.26±0.02, 0.93±0.05, 0.43±0.05.Compared with A group, B group IL- 1, TNF-αincreased significantly, with statistical significance. In group C, IL- 1, TNF -αlevels relative to the B group's condition improved significantly, which has statistical significance. onclusion Hydrogen sulfide can reduce IL- 1, TNF-αlevel in diabetic rats with osteoporosis, regulation of inflammatory cytokine production, inhibit inflammatory reaction. Key words: Type Ⅱ diabetic mellitus; Hydrogen sulfide; Interleukin-1; Tumor necrosis factor-α
