Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of medication guidance and nutrition management for pregnant women with advanced maternal age based on Wechat platform. Methods 240 pregnant women with advanced maternal age undergoing antenatal examinations were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 120 cases in each group. The control group received routine antenatal examinations and pregnancy health education, while the experimental group received additional medication guidance and nutrition management. Then the pregnancy complications, pregnancy outcomes, perinatal outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results The awareness rates of knowledge of nutrition balance, diet health, medical contraindication, and rational administration in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidences of gestational diabetes mellitus, anemia, and cesarean section in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidences of low birth weight infant and macrosomia in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Medication guidance and nutrition management for pregnant women with advanced maternal age can improve the pregnancy outcomes and perinatal outcomes. The novel pattern of pregnancy health management deserves to be spread and utilized. Key words: Wechat platform; Pregnant women with advanced maternal age; Medication guidance; Nutrition management
