Comparing the effect of dexamethasone, tropisetron, dexamethasone and tropisetron in preventing nausea and vomiting after radical mastectomy

Abstract
Objective Compare the effect of dexamethasone,tropisetron,dexamethasone and Tropisetron in preventing nausea and vomiting after radical mastectomy.Methods Eighty-nine patients were divided into four groups; the control (group Ⅰ),the dexamethasone (group Ⅱ),tropisetron (group Ⅲ),dexamethasone and tropisetron group (Ⅳ group).Assess PONV of each group.Results The incidence of nausea was 32％,21％,20％,16％ respeotinely; And the incidence of vomiting was 24％,16％,15％,12％.Comparing with the control group,the other three groups had a low incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV,P ＜ 0.05).The three groups,showed no statistical significance.Conclusion No significant difference between the dexamethasone and tropisetron in preventing PONV of patients after radical mastectomy.
