Effects of sealing-up method for cerebral infarction patients with the superficial vein catheter

Objective To explore the sealing-up method of the superficial vein catheter for patientswith cerebral infarction in order to extend indwelling time and reduce the incidence of phlebjtis.Methods It was a self-control study.A total of 40 patients with cerebral infarction were divided into two groups:control group and study group.Normal saline combined with diluted heparin were used in the study group while only diluted heparin was used in the control group.The two groups were compared in indwelling time,the incidence of tube-blocked and phlebitis.Results In indwelling time and the incidence of phlebitis,the differences between two groups were significant(P 0.05).Conclusions For patients with cerebral infarction.using normal saline combined with diluted hepafin to seal shut the superficial vein catheter was superior to only using diluted heparin.
