Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin on patients with acute cerebral infarction and its effect on blood lipids, high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and carotid atherosclerotic plaque. Methods From June 2014 to December 2015, 82 patients with acute cerebral infarction were selected, they were randomly divided into study group and control group, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated by routine treatment, the study group was treated with atorvastatin on the basis of conventional therapy. The clinical efficacy, blood lipid related indicators, hs-CRP, carotid plaque and laboratory indexes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate was 90.24% in the study group and 70.73% in the control group, the difference was significant (P>0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density fat cholesterol, hs-CRP, mixed echo plaques, hyperechoic plaque, low echo plaques and membrane thickness, serum creatine kinase, valley pyruvic transaminase, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of high density lipoprotein cholesterol, creatine kinase, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen between the two groups(P>0.05), but the other indicators of the study group were significantly better than those of the control group, the differences were significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin in the treatment of patients with acute cerebral infarction is effective, it can effectively improve the levels of blood lipid, hs-CRP level, inhibit the formation of carotid atherosclerotic plaque. Key words: Atorvastatin; Acute cerebral infarction; Blood lipid; High sensitive C-reactive protein; Carotid atherosclerotic plaque
