The influence of atorvastatin calcium on blood lipids,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and atherosclerosis in patients with cerebral infarction

Abstract
Objective To explore the influence of atorvastatin calcium on blood lipids,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and atherosclerosis in patients with cerebral infarction.Methods 72 patients with cerebral infarction admitted by our hospital from June 2010 to June 2011 were randomly divided into Control group and Observation group.Both groups received basic medical treatment,while only the Observation group was given atorvastatin calcium additionally.The lipid(TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C),plasma hs-CRP level and atherosclerotic plaque indicators(diameter,thickness,area,integral and efficacy) before treatment and 6th month after treatment were investigated.Results The levels of TC(P0.01),TG(P0.05),LDL-C(P0.05),hs-CRP(P0.05),IMT(P0.05) and plaque indicators of Observation group were lower than the Control group.The efficiency of plaques treatment in Observation group was higher than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin calcium can improve blood lipids and hs-CRP levels of patients with cerebral infarction,reduce plaque indicators and elevate the efficiency of plaque treatment.
