Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect and toxicity of docetaxel combined with oxaliplatin, leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil regimen for patients with advanced gastric cancer, and compare with non-docetaxel chemotherapy regimen. Methods 130 patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly divided into treatment group 87 patients and control group 43 patients. The regimen of the treatment groups was docetoxel 50mg/m2,iv infusion from day 1 to 3 ;oxaliplatin 65mg/m2,iv infusion on day 1 ;leucovofin 300mg/m2,iv infusion for 2 hours followed by 5-fluorouracil 500mg/m2,iv infusion from day 1 to 5.The regimen of the control group was oxaliplatin 130mg/m2,iv infusion on day 1.The usage of leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil were similar to the treatment group. All patients were evaluated after 2cycles( every cycle lasted 3 weeks). Results The effective rate in treatment group and in control group had statistical significance(P < 0.05).The main to:deities were no statistical difference in two groups( P > 0.05).Conclusion Docetoxel combined with oxaliplatin, leueovorin and 5-fluorouracil regimen is safe, high response and well tolerable for advanced gastric cancer. Key words: Stomach neoplasms; Docetaxel; Oxaliplatin
