Comparative study ofcontrast-enhanced ultrasonography,enhanced CT and MRI in diagnosis of insulinoma

Abstract

：Objective To analysisthe diagnostic value of several imaging modalities in the preoperative localization ofinsulinoma.Methods The imaging findings of 31 insulinoma cases with a definitepathological diagnosis were retrospectively reviewed.Before operation,31 cases hadcontrastenhanced ultrasonography(CEUS),30 cases had enhanced-CT examination and 28 caseshad MRI examination.Combining the surgery and pathology results,three imaging modalitieswere compared to evaluate their preoperative diagnosis value for insulinoma.Results Thedetection rates of CEUS,enhanced CT and MRI were 96.8 %,63.3%,82.4%,respectively.Thedetection rate of CEUS was higher than enhanced-CT(P=0.0018)and correlated withMRI(P=0.1828).Conclusions CEUS has great potential in the preoperative diagnosis ofinsulinoma.
