Abstract
Objective To investigate the application and clinical effects of early mild hypothermia therapy on acute severe craniocerebral injury. Methods The clinical data of 54 patients with acute severe craniocerebral injury admitted in Zhongmou people' s hospital from June 2008 to September 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. They were randomly divided into control group (26 cases) and observation group (28 cases).Patients in control group were treated with conventional therapy, and patients in observation group were treated with mild hypothcrmia on the basis of conventional therapy. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, the GCS score of the observation group was 7.5 ± 1.1,and that of control group was 6.6 ± 0.9,the difference was significant between the two groups (P < 0.05).Fifteen cases (57.7%) in control group were cured and 6 cases (23.1%) died,20 cases(71.4%) in observation group were cured and 4 cases (14.3%) died, the difference was significant(P < 0.05).But there was no significant difference in complications between the two groups. Conclusions Early mild hypothcrmia adjuvant therapy on acute severe craniocerebral injury can reduce intracranial pressure obviously, also it can reduce the secondary lesion, improve the patients' prognosis and the survival rates. The clinical application is safe and especially is suitable for primary hospital. Key words: Acute severe craniocerebral injury; Mild hypothermia; Curative effect
