Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of enalapril combined with astragalus injection for dilated cardiomyopathy ( DCM ).Methods 70 patients with DCM who had been hospitalized during March 2009 to September 2011 were randomly assigned to receive conventional Western therapy including enalapril ( 35 patients, control group ),or enalapril combined with astragalus injection( 35 patients, study group ).The efficacy was compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, cardiac function index improved in both groups. Two indexes of heart function were significantly higher in the study group than in the control group ( P< 0.05 ).The effectiveness rate was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group ( 91.4% vs.74.3%,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Enalapril combined with astragalus injection for dilated cardiomyopathy is effective in improving cardiac function in patients and has a better efficacy than conventional Western medicine alone. It is worth popularizing clinically. Key words: Astragalus injection; Enalapril; Dilated cardiomyopathy
