Abstract

Objective Comparing the treatment effect of the implantation of anterior chamber intraocular lens and posterior chamber intraocular lens in small incision extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior capsular ruptureⅠ. Methods The clinical data of 100 cases (100 eyes) who have accepted small incision extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior capsular ruptureⅠin the department of ophthalmology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine were collected from November 2012 to December 2014 for our retrospective case-control study. Patients were separated into 2 groups: anterior chamber intraocular lens group and posterior chamber intraocular lens group. In anterior chamber intraocular lens group, there were 50 cases (50 eyes) who have implanted anterior chamber intraocular lens in small incision extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior capsular ruptureⅠ; in posterior chamber intraocular lens group, there were 50 cases (50 eyes) who have implanted posterior chamber intraocular lens in small incision extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior capsular ruptureⅠ. After treatment, the naked eye visual acuity of patients in posterior chamber intraocular lens group and anterior chamber intraocular lens group were presented as mean ± standard deviation(±s). The comparison between two groups was compared by independent sample t-test. At the same time, the postoperative complications in posterior chamber intraocular lens group and anterior chamber intraocular lens group were presented as numbers and the percentage (%). The comparison between two groups was compared by χ2 test. Results After the treatment for 1 month, the naked eye visual acuity of posterior chamber intraocular lens group and anterior chamber intraocular lens group were 0.5±0.1 and 0.8±0.2 respectively. Comparing the naked eye visual acuity of two groups, the difference was statistically significant (t=9.49, P<0.05). After the treatment, 2 patients in anterior chamber intraocular lens group had complications. 1 case was retinal detachment and 1 case was vitreous hemorrhage. The complication rate in this group was 4% (2/50). 8 cases in posterior chamber intraocular lens group had complications. 3 cases were retinal detachment. 3 cases were glaucoma and 2 cases were vitreous hemorrhage. The complication rate in this group was 16% (8/50). Comparing the complication rate of two groups, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.00, P<0.05). Conclusion Short term treatment effect of the implantation of anterior chamber intraocular lens in small incision extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior capsular ruptureⅠis better than the implantation of posterior chamber intraocular lens.
