Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of budesonide combined with montelukast in the treatment of cough after infection in children. Methods 106 children with bronchial asthma were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 53 ones in each group. The control group received aerosol inhalation of budesonide, and the treatment group received aerosol inhalation of budesonide combined with oral administration of montelukast after the treatment for 10 weeks. The clinical efficacy was mainly observed. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 85.1%,which was higher than 45.2% of the control group, the difference was significant (P〈0.05).However,between the control group and the research group, there was no significant difference of total incidence rate of adverse reactions (16.9% vs 15.1%) (P〉0.05).Conclusion Curative effect of budesonide combined with montelukast in treatment of cough after infection in children is good, should be recommended in primary hospitals. Key words: Budesonide;  Aerosol inhalation;  Montelukast;  Cough after infection
