Abstract
Objective To investigate the characteristic imaging and diagnostic value of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis by high -frequency ultrasonography. Methods Eighteen high -frequency ultrasonography performed for possible congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis were analyzed retrospectively. All of diagnosis were confirmed by operation. Results High-frequecy ultrasound could be shown pyloric modality and the sign of the hypertrophied pyloric muscle bulging into the gastric lumen. There was no significant difference between the thickness of pyloric muscle and the value found in surgery (P>0.05). Conclusions High -frequency ultrasonography is a simple and reliable method for the diagnosis of CHPS and should be the initial imaging procedure.
