Abstract
Serum mannose-binding lectin (MBL) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels were measured by ELISA in healthy control subjects and type 2 diabetic patients with and without macrovascular complications matched for age, sex, and duration of diabetes. The results showed that serum MBL concentration was significantly lower in type 2 diabetic patients without macrovascular complications than that in patients with macrovascular complications and in healthy control subjects(both P<0.01),while no significant difference was found between the latter two groups.Hs-CRP level in type 2 diabetic patients was higher than that in control subjects (both P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between two groups of diabetic patients (P>0.05). Key words: Diabetes mellitus, type 2; Macrovascular complications; Mannose-binding lectin; High sensitivity C-reactive protein
