Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of the Id gene in lung cancer and its relationship with clinical parameter. Methods The expression of four Id proteins by immunohistochemistry and tissue array in 69 human lung cancers and 34 para-cancemus tissues were detected to investigate the relationship between their expression and various clinicopathological factors.RT-PCR was used to detected the expression of Id mRNA level and its clinical significance in 30 lung cancers. Results The four Id protein expression levels were significantly different between lung cancer and normal lung tissues (P 0.05).In addition, expression of Id1,Id2 and Id3 protein were higher in low differentiated lung cancer than in high differentiated lung cancer (P<0.05). Id1 was expressed at a higher level in lymph nodes metastasis group in comparison with no lymph nodes metastasis group(P<0.05).Id1 and Id3 were highly related with lymph nodes metastasis and low differentiated tumors (P<0.05).Conclusion The four Id gene may be the prognostic indicator of lung cancer, which takes part in the progression and metastasis of lung cancer as an oncogene. The high expression of the four Id genes are related with the malignant degree of cancer. Key words: Lung neoplasms; Suppressor factors, immunologic; Id1; Id2; Id3; Id4; Prognosis
