Abstract
Objective To evaluate the treatment of posterior capsular rupture in the cataract phacoemulsification. Methods This complication from 13 eyes (2.05%) in 634 eyes of 547 cases, during cataract phacoemulsification was collected. The different treatments were adopted according to the different period of posterior capsule rupture occurred and whether lens fragments dropped into the vitreous or not. Results The best correct visual acuitiy was 0.5 or better is 13 eyes after 3 months, and vitrectomy was performed on 2 eyes of them in 3 weeks after phacoemulsification. Conclusion The posterior capsular rupture occurring during phacoemulsification must be immediately managed.Active treatment not only can eliminate the complications caused by posterior capsule rupture, but also can obtain the satisfactory visual acuity. Key words: Phacoemulsification ; Posterior capsular rupture ; Treatment
