Abstract

Objective To discuss the effect of Bcl-2 and P53 in the transformation of oral lichen planus (OLP),and also provides a new way to treat OLP and prevent squamous cell carcinoma. Methods To respectively detect the expression of Bcl-2 and P53 in 45 cases of OLP and 46 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) by immunohistochemistry method. And selected 15 cases of normal oral mucosa as control group. Results The expression of Bcl-2 in normal oral mucosa group was obviously lower than that in OLP group and that in OSCC group. No expression of P53 was detected in normal oral mucosa group. The expression of P53 in OSCC group was obviously higher than that in normal oral mucosa group and OLP group. Conclusions Bcl-2 and P53 both play an important role in the development of OLP and OSCC. Key words: Oral lichen planus; Oral squamous cell carcinoma; Bcl-2; P53
