Abstract

Objective To discuss the effect of Caspase-3 and P53 protein in the carcinogenesis of oral lichen planus(OLP) and oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods The expression of Caspase-3 and P53 protein were detected in 45 cases of OLP(OLP group),46 cases of OSCC(OSCC group) and 15 normal controls(control group) with immunohistochemistry method. Results The expression of Caspase-3 was obviously higher in OLP group(71.11%) than that in OSCC group(47.83%)(P0.05),and lower than that in control group(93.33%)(P0.05).The expression of P53 protein was obviously higher in OSCC group(78.26%) than that in control group(0) and OLP group(28.89%)(P0.05).The expression of Caspase-3 was negatively correlated with P53 protein(r=0.339,P=0.021).Conclusion Caspase-3 can suppress the development of OLP and OSCC,and P53 protein may accelerate proliferation of OSCC.
