Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effects of rivanol combined with mifepristone for the induction of labor in mid-pregnancy. Methods We selected 90 healthy pregnant women of 17-28 weeks, demanding termination of pregnancy. They were randomly divided into experiment group (n = 50)and control group(n=40).Before injecting rivanol 100 mg into amniotic through the abdominal cavity, the women in the experiment group were orally given mifepristone 150 mg total. While the control group was alone treated with rivanol 100 mg by amniotic injection. Two groups were compared on the time of induced labor, total stage of labor, bleeding quantity of 2 hours postpartum, the rate of curettage. Results In the experiment group, induced labor time and total stage of labor were shorter than the control group(P 0.05). Conclusions Mifepristone combined with rivanol is an ideal method of the induction of labor in mid-pregnancy. Key words: Induced labor;  Mid-pregnancy;  Mifepristone;  Rivanol
