Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of small incision non-phacoemulsification technique and phacoemulsification in the treatment of cataract. Methods One hundred cataract patients with 120 eyes, according to the sequence of admission were divided into control group in 50 cases,60 eyes (small incision non phacoemulsification method) and the observation group in 50 cases,60 eyes(phacoemulsification technique). To compare operation time, naked eye vision two weeks after surgery, corneal edema and changes of astigmatism between the two groups. Results There was significant differences on patients' operation time, naked eye vision two weeks after surgety, corneal edema thickness and astigmatism between the two groups (t =4.79,5.46,4.87,5.55,P < 0.05).Conclusions Small incision non-phacoemulsification has advantage of shorter operation time, small fluctuations in anterior chamber, less complications compared to phacoemulsification in cataract operation. Key words: Small incision; Non-phacoemulsification; Cataract; Effect
