Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical curative effect on the treatment of long standing retinal detachment by scleral buckling surgery. Methods The clinical data of 72 eyes with long standing retinal detachment treated by sclera buckling surgery in Beijing Renhe Hospital from January 2009 to June 2014 were retrospectively studied, and the data of postoperative retinal reattachment state, visual acuity were analyzed. Results Best corrected visual acuity was improved in 50 eyes, no improved in 16 eyes, and decreased in 6 eyes. Conclusions Scleral buckling surgery is an effective method to treat long standing retinal detachment. Key words: Scleral buckling surgery; Long standing; Retinal detachment
