Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of atorvastatin on serum C - reactive protein in pa-tients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS). Methods Seventy cases of ACS patients were randomly di-vided into atorvastatin group (n = 35) and control group (n = 35). The serum CRP and lipoprotein were measured in 70 patients with ACS before and after treatment. Results After 4 weeks, the atorvastatin-group and control group, patients with CRP and serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) and low - density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL - C) concentration decreased significantly (P 0.05). Conclusions The serum levels of CRP are increased in patients with ACS. Atorvastatin is an effective and safe lipid -lowering drug, it can decrease CliP and increase HDL- C in plasma level. Key words: Atorvastatin ;  C - reactive protein ;  Coronary disease ;
