Effect of atorvastatin in patients with acute coronary syndrome

Abstract

Objective:To study effects of atorvastatin in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods:60 patients with ACS were randomly divided into atorvastatin therapeutic group(n=30)or conventional therapeutic group(n=30).Serum lipid and c-reactive protein levels were assayed before and 2 weeks after therapy in two groups.Results:After 2 weeks of the therapy,TC、LDL-C and CRP levels of atorvastatin therapeutic group were significantly decreased.the comparisons of serum lipid and CRP levels between the two groups had significant difference(P0.01).Serum lipid level was unchanged in conventional,C-reactive protein level in conventional was decreased,But had no significantly difference(P0.05).Conclusions:Short-term atorvastatin therapy can effectively lower CRP,serum lipid levels in ACS patients.
