Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of magnesium valprote combined with phenytoin sodium on traumatic epilepsy. Methods One hundred and fifty cases of traumatic epilepsy admitted in our hospital, from March 2010 to March 2013 were selected. They were divided into magnesium valprote treatment group (group A,50 cases),phenytoin sodium treatment group (group B,50 cases) and two drug combined treatment group (group C,50 cases),according to the treatment methods. The treatment effects of the three groups were observed. Results Seizure frequency and duration of traumatic epilepsy attack, were better after treatment than those before treatment in patients of the three groups, there were significant differences (P <0.05) ; There was no significant difference between group A and group B (P > 0.05) ; Group C was superior to group A and group B,there were significant differences (P < 0.05).In the overall efficiency rate of the treatment, group C was significantly superior to group A and group B,there were significant differences (P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between group A and group B (P > 0.05).There was no significant difference among the three groups in the incidence of adverse drug reactions (P > 0.05).Conclusions The treatment of traumatic epilepsy with magnesium valprote combined with phenytoin sodium has significantly clinical curative effect, with no increase in adverse drug reactions, and patient's tolerance is good,so is worthy to be popularized in clinics. Key words: Neurosurgery ; Traumatic epilepsy ; Magnesium valprote ; Phenytoin sodium
