Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of phacoemulsification combined with trabeculectomy for angle closure glaucoma with cataract. Methods 48 eys of 32 cases underwent phacoemulsification and implantation of posterior chamber foldable intraocular lens combined with trabeculectomy. The postoperative follow-up was 6 months. The visual acuity and intraocular pressure were analyzed. Results The preoperative intraocular pressure was 30-45 mmHg (1 mmHg =0.133 kPa).The postoperative intraocular pressure was 8-15 mmHg at the final visit. The corrected visual acuity was at >0.3 in 30 eyes (62.5%).Conclusion For angle closure glaucoma with cataract, phacoemulsification and implantation of posterior chamber foldable intraocular lens combined with trabeculectomy are safe and effective. Key words: Cataract; Glaucoma; Phacoemulsification; Trabeculectomy
