The effect of family bed care model on compliance with medication of patients with hypertension

Objective To investigate the effect of family bed care model on compliance with medication and blood pressure control of patients with hypertension.Methods A total of 110 cases of elderly patients with hypertension were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group,each had 55 cases.The control group was accepted conventional health education,the intervention group was accepted family bed care model care on the basis of conventional health education.All the patients adopted the guidance about hypertension including medication methods,using drugs regularity,blood pressure monitoring and exercise compliance.Intervention group adopted continuous family nursing intervention lasting for 6 months.Treatment compliance and the rate of adverse event were compared between two groups.Results There was no significant difference in blood pressure between two groups of patients before discharge.After discharge,in the intervention group the SBP and DBP were lower than those in the control group,medication compliance was higher than that in the control group,blood pressure control efficiency was higher than that in the control group,the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events was lower than that of control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The family care model can effectively reduce blood pressure,improve medication compliance and reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events on the elderly hypertensive patients.
