Comparison of the effects of general anesthesia and combined spinal epidural anesthesia in the operation of femoral neck fracture in elderly patients

Abstract

Objective To compare and analyze the effects of general anesthesia and combined spinal epidural anesthesia in the operation of femoral neck fracture in elderly patients. Methods Eighty-two senile patients with femoral neck fracture were selected and were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was given general anesthesia, and the observation group was given combined spinal epidural anesthesia. The operation and anesthetic effects of the two groups were observed. Results The time of postoperative consciousness recovery and postoperative waking time in observation group were shorter than those in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). After 12 and 48 h, the VAS score in observation group was lower than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group [4.88% (2/41)] was significantly lower than that in control group [19.51% (8/41)], and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Combined spinal epidural anesthesia for elderly patients with femoral neck fracture can reduce pain and incidence of adverse reactions, optimize the effects of anesthesia, which is safe and effective and has high clinical application value.
