Clinical analysis of combined spinal and epidural anesthesia used in elderly patients with lower limb fracture

Objective To observe and analyze the effect of combined spinal and epidural anesthesia used in elderly patients with lower limb fracture.Methods Two hundred and four cases of patients with lower limb fracture,who underwent surgical therapy in our hospital from October 2009 to October 2011 were randomly divided into two groups.100 cases in group A were given surgical therapy under only epidural anesthesia,104 cases in group B were performed under combined spinal and epidural anesthesia,and the anesthetic effect of patients in two groups were compared.Results There was no statistical significance(P 0.05) in intraoperative vital signs between two groups.The onset time of anesthesia in group B was significantly shorter than that in group A,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).The total dosage of epidural anesthesia in group B patients was significantly lower than that of group A,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).There was no serious adverse consequence caused by misoperation of anesthesia in two groups.Conclusion It has good anesthetic effect,short anesthesia onset time,few total dosage and safety that combined spinal and epidural anesthesia used in elderly patients with lower limb fracture.It is suitable for wide application.
