Abstract

Objective To approach into the expression of peripheral blood CD64 in 81 sick children with flow cytometry. Method According to diagnostic criteria of Practical Pediatrics, 81 children were divided into infection group (68 patients) and non-infection group (13 patients). On the basis of lencocyte count, neutrophil classification, etiologic and serologic examination, infection group again diveded into bacterial infection group (27 patients), viral infection group (18 patients) and mycoplasma infection group (23 patients). Then, the levels of WBC, CRP and CD64 in infection group were detected and compared with control group. Results No statistical difference (P>0.05) of lymphocyte CD64 was observed in infection group or non-infection group compared with normal control. But variance of neutrophil CD64 had statistical difference(P 0.05). Conclusions In children peripheral blond, there is positive correlation between expression level of neutrophil CD64 and CRP or WBC count. Furthermore, peripheral blood CD64 test would be used for differential diagnosis between bacterial infection and other infection. Key words: Cells;  Children;  CD64;  Flow cytometry
