The impact of comprehensive nursing intervention on the life quality of low rectal cancer patients

Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of comprehensive nursing intervention on the life quality of low rectal cancer patients.Methods There were 62 cases of rectal cancer.They were randomly divided into experimental group of 31 patients and a control group of 31 cases.Control group was received routine nursing care.The experimental group was received conventional cancer care with addition to nursing intervention in accordance to comprehensive nursing intervention.The effects were assessed by QLQ-C30 scale and satisfaction survey scale to observe the changes of life quality of patients.Results Five functional areas of the life quality,three symptom domains,overall life quality,satisfaction and hospital days were compared between two groups.Those of observation group were all superior to those of control group.There were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Comprehensive nursing intervention such as low colorectal cancer psychological care,colon creates mouth care,diet nursing,nursing of reconstructing defecating in regular pattern and life instruction can shorten hospitalization time,reduce the cost of hospitalization and improve life quality and satisfaction of patient.
