The Evolution of the Concept of Student Affairs Management in Colleges and Universities

With the development of the concept of “college student affairs” proposed by the United States, it has undergone several conceptual evolutions, presenting the current phenomenon of “four phases overlapping, occasionally conflicting but still coexisting”. Although China has widely used two professional terms such as “college student affairs” and “university student affairs management”, it has already incorporated Chinese color into professional concepts in China, which has a special localization meaning. This paper will analyze the evolution of the concept of student affairs management in colleges and universities, and put forward a new definition of college student affairs management.
