Abstract
The paper concerns the analysis and optimization on armature reaction of a rotary-linear voice coil motor(VCM), aiming at the application for multi-degree-of-freedom complex movement platforms. The distributions of the magnetic field in the air gap are studied firstly, under both of no-load and load conditions. Then, the impacts of the armature reaction on the magnetic field and the force properties are analyzed, and the optimization about the armature reaction of this rotary-linear VCM is proceeded. Finally, the prototype of the rotary-linear VCM with the armature reaction optimization is manufactured, and the experimental results of this prototype are compared to the data of the initial rotary-linear VCM. The improvements of the force features are validated.
