Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation of anticoagulation and fibrinolytic markers with the progression of Henoch-Schnlein purpura(HSP)and Henoch-Schnlein purpura nephritis(HSPN)in children. Methods One hundred children with HSP,141 children with HSPN and 35 healthy children were enrolled.Activities of antithrombin-Ⅲ(ATⅢ-%),D-dimer,fibrinogen degradation product(FDP),platelet(PLT),C reactive protein(CRP),urine total protein of 24 hours(24U-TP)and urine red blood cell were investigated. Results ATⅢ-% levels in patients with HSP reduced to normal in 2 months(P 0.001).ATⅢ-% levels in patients with HSPN reduced to normal in 6 months(P 0.001).PLT levels in 2 months and D-dimer,FDP,and CRP levels in half a month reduced to normal in patients with HSP and HSPN(P 0.001).ATⅢ-% and PLT levels in patients with HSPN were significantly higher than those in patients with HSP during the acute phase(P 0.05).A significant correlation was detected between CRP and D-dimer levels in patients with HSP(r = 0.451,P 0.001).A significant correlation was detected between CRP and D-dimer levels, and between CRP and FDP levels in patients with HSPN(r = 0.525 and 0.367 respectively,P 0.001).A significant correlation was detected between ATⅢ-% and PLT,and between ATⅢ-% and 24U-TP levels(r = 0.407 and 0.497 respectively,P 0.001).Conclusions The patients with HSP and HSPN have their anticoagulation fibrinolytic system activated, and then recover to normal gradually with the progression of disease.A correlation may be present between ATⅢ-% and the progression of disease in children with HSPN.
