Abstract

Objective:To observe the rat chronic toxicity induced by Qinzhi capsule taken orally. Methods:The rats were orally given Qinzhi capsule for 28 days with the doses of 8.0,16.0 and 32.0g(crude medicinal materials)/kg(20,40 and 80 times of clinic dose) and for 14 days of stopping administration. The rat's weights, organ coefficients, the indexes of hematology and biochemistry were determined, and the pathological examination were carried out. Results:The outer appearance and behavior, weights, organ coefficient, the indexes of hematology and biochemistry in rats had no significant difference by comparing with control group. The pathological examination did not discover significant pathological changes related to drug toxicity and the delayed toxicity reaction after drug administration. Conclusion:Qinzhi capsule has no significant toxicity for long-term administration on rats.It infers that the drawing up doses in clinic will be safe.
