Abstract
A core/shell structure styreneacrylic emulsion containing 3% ethenylsiloxane was synthesized, by using core/shell polymerization technology and semicontinuous seed polymerization. The emulsion stability and the film properties are improved significantly. Effects of factors such as reaction temperature, reaction time, ethenylsiloxane and emulsifying agent content on reaction proceeding are discussed. The structure of polymer emulsion is characterized via IR.
