Abstract
The combined effect of acute starvation and fractionated irradiation (3x 100r) on the proliferative activity of bone marrow cells in rats has been investigated. Results have shown that after a four-day period of acute starvation the formation of erythroid marrow cells almost completely ceases, while in the case of myeloid cells it is not so. Fractionated irradiation in fasted rats reduces the regeneration rate of erythroid cells and their maximum proliferation.
