Empirical Research on Competitiveness of Modern Service Industry of Guangdong

Abstract

The article evaluates the competitiveness of modern service industry of Guangdong based on an evaluation system composed of 38 indicators.The results show that: Guangdong has an advantage in China,especially over its industrial scale,however,to catch up with Beijing,Jiangsu and Shanghai,Guangdong should not only enhance scientific and technological strength but further improve and optimize the environment of industrial development;secondly,the competitiveness of Pearl River Delta is significantly higher than that of the mountainous regions,western regions and eastern regions of Guangdong,and regionally differentiated policy should be taken to accelerate the development of modern service industry.
