Abstract
Huotongxi river basin is the key region for flood control in Ningde. There are many reservoirs in the basin, including seven large and middle scale reservoirs. They have complex connection relations in series or parallel, what's more, many reservoirs all have functions of water supply, flood control and power generation. With methods of generalizing rule, information system for flood control of Huotongxi river basin can conduct data processing in the form of graphical form, and multiple kinds of water regime information display based on GIS.On the basis of GIS,the river basin can be classified into several sub-valleys with independent geographical unit and uniform precipitation observation station distribution, then distributed flood forecasting model is developed to provide support for rational regulation and decision-making of the reservoir group.
