Abstract

Based on an analysis of the river basin flood characteristics, it is proposed that a river basin can be divided into a series of objectives with different characteristics. The objectives consist of basic elements, and the flood evolution in the river basin depends on the water stage field. Then, with the nodal water stage taken as the basic variable, a universal model for river basin flood simulation is established by use of the inter-element water volume exchange function and the data driving mechanism. The feasibility of the model is verified by some examples.
