Abstract

Objective To summarize the clinical experiences of early diagnosis and surgical treatment of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture in 34 patients.Methods The clinical materials of 34 patients with traumatic diaphragmatic rupture from January 1995 to December 2006 were retrospectively reviewed,and etiology,complicated injury,diagnosis and surgical approach were analysed.Results Fourteen patients were diagnosed before the surgery.Only one patient died,and 33 patients were cured.Conclusion The early diagnosis and active treatment of complicated injuries is the key to cure the traumatic diaphragmatic rupture.
