Research on the effect of training on adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation of undergraduate nursing students

Objective To analyze the effect of performing Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation by nursing students,and try to find out the mistakes that nursing students often make in order to provide mirror for improving CPR teaching in future. Methods 54 undergraduate nursing students participated in CPR skill training and examinations. Anny electronical Models and the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care were used as evaluation tools in training and examinations. Results Students nearly forgot the CPR skill that they had learnt in school.The ratio of qualified students rose by practice. But open airway,give breath to make chest rise,compression depth et al were still difficulties of CPR. Conclusions It’s useful to improve students’ CPR skill by updating teaching material,utilizing advanced models,training regularly and reinforcing the teaching of difficulties.
