Practice and exploration of training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation skill for medical students

Objective To explore effects of propaganda and skill training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)among the students of Guangxi Medical University.Methods A survey by questionnaires of CPR knowledge and skills training with Skillreporter Resusci Anne manikin and a evaluation for the effects were carried in 428 students from pharmacy,medical laboratory,information management and information system,and clinical medicine major.Results The knowledge and skills about CPR were understood by the students less than 7% before the training.However this ratio increased significantly over 95% after the propaganda and training.Conclusions Most students were lack of the knowledge and skills of CPR at present,and it is an urgent task to provide propaganda and skill training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)among the students.This practice with Skillreporter Resusci Anne manikin by a shortterm training may enhance significantly the students'knowledge and skills in CPR.
