Abstract
Objective To study the clinical characteristics and imaging finding of wallerian degeneration in the pyramidal tract after cerebral infarction. Methods The clinical and MRI data of 15 cases were analyzed about wallerian degeneration in the pyramidal tract after cerebral infarction found by conventional MRI.Results Typical wallerian degeneration in the pyramidal tract could be found by conventional MRI after cerebral infarction in 1-2 weeks.Wallerian degenerationtion was related to the area of the cerebral infarction, wallerian degeneration had worse prognosis. Conclusion The investigationg of wallerian degeneration can help doctor to prognose the patient's motor outcome.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
