Proceedings: 1991 EPRI gas turbine procurement seminar

A seminar designed to meet the procurement needs of electric utility gas turbine users was held in Danvers, Massachusetts, October 1--3, 1991. The emphasis of the seminar was to provide an opportunity for utility representatives to hear the first-hand the capabilities and services provided by turbine manufacturers, and to interact with other industry constituents interested in addressing assorted problems and needs in simple- and combined-cycle gas turbine units. The 1991 Gas Turbine Procurement Seminar was the sixth in a series of seminars primarily devoted to assisting utilities during the often difficult procurement process. As had been successfully done in one earlier seminar, the 1991 program included formal presentations by five turbine manufacturers. The sixty attendees consisted of thirty-nine representatives of twenty-nine electric utilities, along with eleven turbine manufacturer representatives, with the balance representing the Electric Power Research Institute (sponsors of the seminar), invited speakers, and Carnot, the contractor responsible for the organization and administration of the conference.
