Abstract

This paper presents the design, simulation and measurement of an omega metamaterial at X band. The small metamaterial speciment is designed for working at about 9.68GHz, which composed of two omega elements. Simulation is performed with the full wave electromagnetic simulation software of HFSS to test its working frequency. The permittivity and permeability of metamaterial specimen after processing are tested with a waveguide transmission line system which proved that the metamaterial specimen have negative dielectric properties.
