Abstract
The article deals with ethnic identity as the central problem in the study of ethno-political conflicts. The phenomenon of ethnicity and ethnicity attract attention with this, conflicting points of view and, respectively, from the point of view of the contradictory of ethnic identity. Wide enough for the meaning of the concept of identity is increasingly interpreted and used in the scientific literature, mainly in relation to the concept of ethnicity is. Conceptual role of this concept in the analysis of social and, above all, ethnic conflicts has led to the emergence of even the «theory of identity». What is the nature of ethnic identity? As it arises, to what extent and for what reasons it was ethnic identity is able to replace all other significant plasticity of social life? Nationalism as possible to win the match, not only with the personal selfishness, but also to other forms of group identity as a family, the community, the state, which is much more reason to claim the personality. What explains altruistic to a nation or ethnic group to the detriment of the group to which the person is connected directly? Answers to these questions are important for a proper understanding of the origins of the actualization of ethnic identity and the increased conflict potential in modern conditions of Russian reality. Understanding of the nature of ethnic identity and its role in shaping of contradiction discourse and conflict is disclosed in the «theory of social discourse» emerged as some attempt to summarize the main provisions of the «theory of human needs». Under this theory recognizes the need for identity is a key problem of violent conflicts of our time. The presence of contradictory identities and the fact of their coexistence is a sufficient reason for the contentiousness of social relations, coexistence of individuals and social communities.
