Abstract
In this paper, a battery charging control method is proposed to solve the problem of the existing method which does not consider the temperature characteristic of the Electric Vehicle(EV) battery and reduced the battery expectancy life-time and utilization. this paper analyzed the characteristics of Li-ion batteries, which are mainly used in Electric Vehicle(EV) and propose a method to charge the battery at the optimum temperature through the battery charge control algorithm. The operation mode is divided into three modes and Charging is performed by maintaining the proper temperature of the battery via self-charge․discharge. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed battery charging method, the On Board Charger(OBC) prototype was made by experiment.
